The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is working to realize "Smart Tokyo," Tokyo's version of Society 5.0 that will enable Tokyo residents to lead a high-quality life by drawing on the potential of Tokyo and improving the quality of its services (QOS) through the power of digital technologies.

As one of its various initiatives, the “Smart Tokyo Chiiki Project" has been adopted to promote initiatives related to the smartization of the city, such as solving local issues and meeting the needs of residents. This will lead to the development of smarter cities throughout the entire Tokyo metropolis.
